Laboratory analyses

In Clinica La Lluca you can have your blood drawn and you can also hand in other materials for laboratory research. We work together with the regional laboratory in Javea. In addition to blood tests, your stool or urine can be examined.

Together with your GP you can discuss what needs to be examined and when the examination will take place, sometimes this can be done on the same day. You do not need to make an appointment to pass stool or urine. You can come by on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 9:30 and 11:30 am. After this we can no longer be of service as the courier of the regional laboratory has already visited.

You can get sterile jars at the reception for faeces and urinalysis. We appreciate it if you package it hygienically.

For some tests, it is important that you are fasting. This means that you are not allowed to eat or drink from 8 hours before the blood test. You may, however, take your medication with water, unless your GP has given separate instructions for this.

Most blood and urine tests are performed on the same day and we receive results within 2 days. For some tests, such as microbiological examination of stools and examinations for sexually transmitted diseases, this may take longer. Your GP will discuss with you what to expect.

As soon as the results are known, we prefer to see you for a consultation to discuss the results with you. Unless it concerns a simple examination, this can also be discussed by telephone in consultation with your GP. Your GP will devote time and attention to this and will charge you for a telephone consultation.
